Looking for an affordable EV? Why not purchase a e-bike?
Electric car sales have tripled in Australia in 2023, with 65,743 electric cars registered between 1 January and 30 September. That’s a 202% increase compared with the same period in 2022.
But EVs are still less than 10% of overall car sales, and new cars make up a small fraction of all cars on the road. EVs are still out of reach for many Australian households, based on price, access to charging or simply available stock.
E-bikes are part of a growing movement that focuses on micro-mobility as a way to reduce congestion, air pollution and and emissions. For Noosa, prompting micro-mobility must be a key part of our emissions reduction strategy.
“We think Noosa residents are ready to power up their community’s future with sustainable energy” said ZEN chair Anne Kennedy.
