our social channels
ZEN is active on Facebook, Instagram and has created a Linkedin presence. We’ve also created videos of some of our events on our YouTube channel.
We’ve got a dedicated team of Bruna, Duncan, Geoff & Meghan who curate our socials, but we could always do with more help, especially to reach a younger demographic - as you are the future ! And not forgetting Pam who produces our newsletter and does website updates.
We’ve most active on Facebook - posting daily and generally reaching more than 1,000 sets of eyeballs each day more or less. We aim to educate, celebrate and inspire. See our “policy” which sets out what and why we do it. Duncan & Geoff mainly look after this with help from Meghan.
Bruna has joined us recently and is getting our Instagram channel going, and we’re hoping our reach will expand !
Bruna’s also created our Linkedin page, but we’re concentrating on building up our Instagram presence first, and Linkedin’s a bit of a pain not being able to schedule posts.

Our website will hopefully inform, and you can check out our email newsletters and we post about the fabulous media exposure we get.
We’re really grateful that our local weekly Noosa Today gives us a free column every fortnight, and the great hinterland monthly Your Local Lifestyle
our data analysis
If you want to reach a target like we do for zero emissions in the Noosa LGA, you have to be able to quantify the size of the task, what needs to be done, and how you are progressing towards it.
As electricity generation is the largest contributor to our CO2 emissions, there has been focus in this area, and this is helped by the wealth of publically available data.
Whilst we’re advanced compared to other community groups, there’s much more to be done, and we’re approaching this in a way that can be extended to other communities.
So we’re looking for enthusiastic and skilled help in this area, ie people with data science learnings.

our community batteries Initiative
We think the case for community batteries is obvious.
Wouldn’t it be great if the excess rooftop solar that is generated could be stored for use when the sun goes down.
Generate locally, store locally and use locally.
We’ve been working with leaders in this emerging field for over a year now, and have submitted a grant proposal with the grandiose title - Business Plan for a Network of Community Batteries in the Noosa LGA.
There will be lots of opportunities for volunteers
