ZEN Board Member Vacancies

Zero Emissions Noosa Inc is seeking two new Board members. Changes in work commitments have meant that two of our long-term members have had to resign and so we are looking for two enthusiastic replacements.

Board Activities

To join our board you will need to be able to:

  • attend meetings in Noosa (currently via Zoom), once a month,

  • be part of one of our working groups (ZEN Electricity group or ZEN Sustainable Transport group – please see below)

  • assist on a Board sub-committee (Governance, Comms. & Advocacy or Finance & Fundraising)

  • be supportive of our aims and

  • commit around 4 hours per week to ZEN activities.

We are looking to our current members to step up to these positions.

Enthusiastic about taking action on The Climate Emergency ?

People who have not-for-profit management experience and/or having a keen interest renewable energy will be well received. However, this is not mandatory as many of our members on the board have learned a lot about renewable energies since being involved with ZEN Inc. If you don’t fit the above criteria but are enthusiastic about driving change, we want to hear from you.

Zero Emissions Noosa is a sector leading not for profit with the stated aim of achieving zero net emissions in the Noosa community by 2026. More information about ZEN is available at our website https://www.zeroemissionsnoosa.com.au

Working Groups

Our two working groups cover Sustainable Transport and Electricity emissions. Our Sustainable Transport group focuses on running the highly successful Noosa EV Expo and promotion of electrical bicycle use, while the Electricity group focuses on identifying and lowering the barriers to investment in renewable energy generation for both residential and businesses.

We work with the Noosa Council to complement and assist their measures and actively work with local business organisations and Tourism Noosa to increase awareness of their members of the economic and environmental benefits of reducing their energy usage.
