Planet Ark Power are working with IKEA to achieve their zero emissions by 2030 goal. ZEN has been talking with Planet Ark Power as we see potential for the innovative technology to be used in Noosa.

The New South Wales, South Australian and Victoria governments have announced a tax on electric vehicles to be rolled out next year. This is an unfortunate development that will discourage people from buying electric vehicles, when we need to be increasing our electric vehicle uptake!

Noosa Sun Motel is saving money using the sun. According to Darren Keenan, Manager, “we started with a 10 Kw system in 2016 and then added another 5 Kws about year later. We thought it would take about 5 years to pay off the system, but we were delighted when it paid itself off in just over 2 years. We have also installed solar heating for our pool.”

Saving money on your power bill is easy. Energy efficient households and businesses can save 10-30% off electricity bills and still be comfortable year round. Being energy efficient also helps Noosa Shire reach its target of zero net emissions by 2026.

Schools across the Noosa Shire are utilising their real time energy data to learn about energy efficiency through Zero Emissions Noosa’s exciting initiative Race to Zero which was officially launched by State MP Sandy Bolton and Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart.
