The Swapable Enduro Challenge at the Zero Emissions EV Expo, is part of Zero Emissions Noosa Inc's Race to Zero program, funded by Noosa Council. The Swapable Enduro Challenge, is engaging small teams of young people from Sunshine Beach State School, in an endurance race with radio-controlled cars with pit stops to swap batteries and collect data about endurance and efficiency. It is a practical application of energy use and energy efficiency for transport using Radio Controlled cars and it also introduces students to the concept of swapable batteries as a power source for Electric Vehicles (EVs).
During this challenge, the brainchild of John Fuller, a ZEN Inc. member and teacher, sees students are putting into practice some of their learning about energy use and energy efficiency from the Race to Zero program that has been running in schools in 2020 to 2022. This is introducing them to trialing real world ideas and learning what works and what the limitations are for these model battery driven vehicles.
